About Big Dog Minnesota Fishing Guide Service -

Big Dog Guide Service was founded in 1996 by Gary Klingler.

Gary has been fishing tournaments since 1979 and has qualified for several national championship tournaments. He has also been providing instructions and training to fishermen for over 20 years and is currently the host of Wright County Outdoors on KRWC AM1360.

Gary is sponsored by Ranger boats, Yamaha motors, MinnKota trolling motors, and Humminbird electronics.

As a former owner of a tackle manufacturing company he has designed and built numerous lures and continues to develop new lures and techniques. Along with his knowledge of fishing Gary has a working knowledge of engineering and manufacturing practices and processes. He has spent twenty years working as a Tool & Die Maker and as a Sales Engineer for companies in the manufacturing industry.

One of his favorite things to do when not fishing is to hunt waterfowl and upland birds with his wife Penny and their three big dogs Sam, Drake, and Belle.

At Big Dog Fishing Guide Service we also have several other highly qualified guides on our staff. They all have at least twenty years of experience and are very proficient at putting our guests on fish and teaching them how to catch the fish.

They have all worked with Gary for at least two years and have proven their selves to not only catch fish consistently but have the patience and desire to make every trip an enjoyable one.

For our large corporate outings we contract with over 70 of the top fishermen in central Minnesota to provide guides for groups of up to 140 guests. These fishermen are picked by Gary for their ability to produce fish for our guests and that have the patience and professionalism to make every trip an enjoyable one.

All of the guides that work for Big Dog Fishing Guide Service are the best of the best. They have the knowledge, patience, desire, determination, skill, and the equipment to make every outing enjoyable. Otherwise they would not be allowed to run with THE BIG DOG.
